Children have a natural curiosity about, and affinity with nature. As society becomes more urbanized however, fewer and fewer children have the opportunity to interact with, and form bonds of respect for, wild living things. In order to effect human behavioral change such that natural environments become as precious as built environments, it is important to provide as many young people as possible, the rich and lasting experiences of interacting with wild animals and exploring the infinite wonder of natural spaces. Peng Field Foundation supports programs and initiatives that work to teach children about ecology and help facilitate these kinds of experiences in natural settings, with the hope of making indelible impressions to foster compassion and respect for the natural world.
